What this is

Field Notes is the edited, topical surface of a personal knowledge graph. I have published roughly forty long-form articles, taught this material to executive cohorts, and shipped software as someone who is not a developer. This site is what I know, reorganised by subject instead of by date.

I am Dr. Tali Režun. I lecture at COTRUGLI Business School, I advise organisations on AI adoption, and I build things. The brand line is “field notes from real builds, not vendor marketing,” and this site is an extension of that, not a new thing.

Why it is not a blog

I already publish narrative essays on Substack, mirrored to Medium. Those are chronological and first person. They answer what happened to me.

This is the other axis. Topical, durable, extractable. It answers how something works. Both are needed, and this site does not replace or republish the essays. It distils across them and links back to them.

Where the material comes from

The raw material lives in a knowledge graph I built with The Curator, my own open-source second brain. Field Notes is the published surface of that graph, edited down by hand.

Three rules govern what makes it here:

  • Nothing is republished. Chapters distil across articles and link to them. Full article text stays where it was published.
  • Every chapter cites published work. If a claim cannot be traced to something already public, it does not go on the page.
  • No numbers from memory. Prices, benchmarks, star counts and model version names get verified against current sources at the time of the edit. A stale figure on a permanent page is worse than no figure.

What it leaves out

I build and run commercial software. Internal architecture, infrastructure topology and security posture for those products are not published here, and neither are compliance claims. That is a deliberate line, not an oversight. Products get described using what is already public and nothing more.

Licensing

Content is CC BY 4.0. Reuse it, adapt it, feed it to a model, put it in your own second brain. Attribution is the only condition. The site code is MIT.

That is deliberate. The point of the corpus is for it to spread into other people’s systems, and a restrictive licence would fight that.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell me. Corrections go straight into the chapter file and I would rather be corrected than quoted incorrectly. Additions are my call. See CONTRIBUTING.md.
